The “Kosaku Shima Series” is a renowned success story of a salaryman, beginning in 1983 in Morning magazine (Kodansha), charting his rise from section chief all the way to chairman. This manga series, which chronicles Kosaku Shima’s journey from his youth to becoming a chairman, boasts a cumulative circulation of 46 million copies across its comic series.

Now, Japan’s most famous rising businessman, Kosaku Shima, graces the labels of these exclusive collaboration wines from Wine Shop Sommelier.

ヤング時代の島耕作から、課長、部長、取締役、常務、専務、社長、会長とそれぞれの役職のラベルに、島耕作の出世を支えた大町久美子、典子ママ、かつ子、中沢部長などのラベルもあり、各ラベルでワインのタイプが異なります。

This exclusive collection features 12 distinct limited-edition wine labels, each celebrating a key moment or person from the “Kosaku Shima Series.” You’ll find labels depicting Kosaku Shima from his early “Young” days, through his ascent as Section Chief, Department Head, Director, Senior Managing Director, Executive Vice President, President, and finally, Chairman.

The collection also pays tribute to the pivotal figures who supported his rise, including Kumiko Omachi, Mama Noriko, Katsuko, and Department Head Nakazawa, each gracing a unique label with a different wine style.

ワインは、フランスのシャトー・ムートン・ロートシルト、カリフォルニアのオーパス・ワン、チリのアルマヴィーヴァなど、世界のトッププレミアムワインを造り続けてきた名醸造家のパスカル・マーティ氏の渾身のワインをセレクトしています。
会長ラベルのワインである「クロ・デ・ファ」は、パスカル・マーティ氏が常に愛情を注ぐわずか2ヘクタールの面積の畑「クロ・デ・ファ」から生み出されるワイン。
ヴィニャ・マーティの畑の中でも、最も素晴らしいテロワールを持つ、アルト・マイポのDOピルケにあり、ここでアルマヴィーヴァに次ぐ自身第四作目のプレミアムワインとして誕生しました。
マーティ氏自身が、昔ながらの小型の醸造設備を使いながら全工程を手掛け、すべての作業は手作業に限りなく近いため、年間生産量はなんとわずか3000本前後。
ワイン業界で幻と言われる、あのロマネ・コンティでさえ6000本なので、まさにその半分という超少量生産で、非常に希少なワインです。

A Master Winemaker’s Magnum Opus: From Château Mouton to Your Glass

Our selection features wines that are the passionate work of Pascal Marty, a renowned winemaker who has consistently crafted some of the world’s top premium wines. His impressive resume includes roles at France’s Château Mouton Rothschild, California’s Opus One, and Chile’s Almaviva.

The “Clos des Fa,” which graces the Chairman Label, is Pascal Marty’s heartfelt creation from a mere 2-hectare vineyard—a plot to which he consistently dedicates immense passion. Located in DO Pirque in Alto Maipo, this vineyard boasts the most exceptional terroir within Viña Marty’s holdings. Here, “Clos des Fa” was born as his fourth premium wine, following in the esteemed footsteps of Almaviva.

Marty himself oversees the entire winemaking process using traditional, small-scale equipment. All tasks are performed almost entirely by hand, resulting in an astonishingly limited annual production of just around 3,000 bottles. To put that into perspective, even the legendary Romanée-Conti, often called “the phantom wine” in the industry, produces about 6,000 bottles. “Clos des Fa” is truly an ultra-small production, making it an extraordinarily rare and sought-after wine.

昇進祝いを贈るタイミング

昇進祝いを贈る場合は、正式な辞令が出たことを確認後、遅くとも1週間以内に贈ることがベストです。
ただ、正式な辞令が出される前の辞令内示の段階では御祝いを贈ることはタブーとされていますので、正式な辞令が確認できてからにしましょう。
昇進のことを少し時期が過ぎてから知った場合や、うっかり時期を逃してしまった場合などは、とりあえずは気付いた時点でお祝いを贈りましょう。
あまりに時間が経った後ですと、突然の贈り物に驚かれる可能性もありますので、お祝いが遅れたことに対するお詫びを添えてお送りするのが良いでしょう。

When giving a promotion gift, it’s best to do so within one week of the official announcement.

However, it’s considered taboo to give a gift at the unofficial notification stage (the naiji) before the formal appointment has been made. Always wait until the official announcement is confirmed.

If you find out about the promotion a bit later, or inadvertently miss the ideal timing, it’s still best to send your congratulations as soon as you realize. If too much time has passed, the sudden gift might come as a surprise, so it’s a good idea to include a brief apology for the delay when you send it.

昇進祝いの金額の目安

一般的には上司や同僚へ贈る際には一人5000円から10000円くらいが相場とされています。
ビジネス上での取引先の社長などに贈る場合は、10000円から50000円が相場と言われています。
これはあくまで目安ですので、ご自身とお相手の関係性などによってちょうど良いと考えられる金額で贈られるのが良いでしょう。

昇進祝いの熨斗の水引は、赤白の蝶結び（＝花結び）を基本とし、表書きについては、「祝御昇進」「祝御昇格」「御昇進御祝」「御昇格御祝」が一般的です。
また、高い地位に就任された相手に贈る際には、「御就任御祝」が良いでしょう。

Naming Your Promotion Gift

When it comes to the noshi (decorative gift wrap) for a promotion celebration, the mizuhiki (decorative cord) should typically be a red and white chomusubi (butterfly knot), also known as a hanamusubi (flower knot).

For the omote-gaki (the main inscription), common phrases include:

• “祝御昇進” (Shuku Go-Shōshin) – Congratulations on your promotion
• “祝御昇格” (Shuku Go-Shōkaku) – Congratulations on your rise in rank
• “御昇進御祝” (Go-Shōshin O-iwai) – Promotion celebration gift
• “御昇格御祝” (Go-Shōkaku O-iwai) – Rank advancement celebration gift

If you’re gifting someone who has been appointed to a very high position, “御就任御祝” (Go-Shūnin O-iwai), meaning “Congratulations on your appointment,” is often the most appropriate choice.
